A full power hot water wash and rinse system, Riveer’s Total Aircraft Washing System (TAWS®) produces a high flow rate that cuts cleaning time dramatically by effectively washing large surface areas. The built-in air powered high-pressure foamer will cover the side of a CH47 in less than a minute (750 sq. feet per minute). This efficiency is further supplemented by dual guns for two users and 200′ of total reach. Simultaneous use of the dual guns does not negatively impact flow rates.

In addition, the spray can easily reach 30′ for cleaning large aircraft and tail sections. All hoses are on reels, and all guns have storage brackets and fit inside toolboxes for easy storage.

The system sprays 5 gallons of 140-degree water per minute out of each spray gun, applying a safe-for-aircraft 175 PSI. These specifications meet the stringent TM requirements for aircraft wash, rinse and decontamination procedures. The TAWS® is low-pressure enough to be safe, but high enough flow to reach exposed steel, hinges, actuators, gear bays and other corrosion-prone areas. Quick connect yoke gives the user 10 GPM to reach 30’ high surfaces, such as tail sections.

Easy Operation

TAWS is simple to operate and maintain. The trailer-mounted unit is completely self-contained and stand-alone, and will operate in a broad range of environmental conditions (from 34F-140F). Little operator training is needed; one button starts and stops the unit, and auto-start and shutdown technology automates the pumping cycle to ensure minimum pump wear and reduce generator demand.

TAWS operates on JP-8, other common aircraft fuels or diesel. It can be supplied with on-board or external supplies of water for continuous use when a clean water supply is available. Water can be held in a 535-gallon tank that allows for a lengthy run time, critical when water is scarce.

Turbine Engine Flush

One of the most advanced capabilities of the TAWS is the turbine engine flush technology. TAWS delivers the low-pressure and low-flow pumping needed for cleaning turbines. Reels and fittings are available for various turbine engines, as well as air and flush hoses. TAWS cleans engines effectively by delivering gas path cleaner from an on-board tank, and rinse water directly into the compressor and hot section of the aircraft’s engine. Flow is set at 1-2.5 GPM and does not exceed 45 PSI for this application. TAWS engine flush technology is compatible with H-47, H-58, H-60 and H-64 aircraft, as well as many others.

Riveer TAWS Total Aircraft Washing Systems were designed in conjunction with U.S. Army for aircraft cleaning in Kuwait. Particular attention was paid to the harsh desert environment and the need to build in reliability for remote operations. This superior design, including a pressure washer rated to perform aircraft washes and meet the washing and pressure guidelines in TM 1-1500-344-23-2, has won Riveer competitive contracts for washing system equipment from both the Army and Air Force.

Easily Transported

Another benefit of the system is its ability to be easily transported. It can be towed with HMMV, TUG, or other common AGE. It has a 6″ to 28″ tow bar height and features stout and fully boxed trailer construction with a 7000# axle set rating. Also present are recessed 12v/24V LED lighting and a NATO standard plug. Kevlar® Reinforced Goodyear® tires to resist tears and punctures round out the list of high-quality transportation features that come together to make moving the TAWS a simple process.
